Digital Projects Advisory Committee

Mission:

In support of the University Libraries digital efforts and coordinated by the Digital Projects Department, the Digital Projects Advisory Committee recommends projects for implementation to the Dean & University Librarian based on established criteria and provides direction in the implementation of projects with regard to funding and coordination within the University Libraries and with OhioLINK and the Digital Resources Center where appropriate.

Membership:

The Digital Projects Advisory Committee is a standing committee appointed by the Dean & University Librarian.  The Head, Digital Projects Department, chairs the Committee and coordinates its work.

The committee is composed of representation from the areas in University Libraries listed below.  Other staff are invited to meetings when appropriate.  These include staff involved in budgeting and grants as well as project initiators.

Dean & University Librarian
Chair: Head, Digital Projects Department

Responsibilities:

The committee meets on a regular basis or as needed to:
  1. Recommend projects for implementation to the Dean & University Librarian based on criteria outlined elsewhere.
  2. Provide direction in the implementation of projects with regard to funding and coordination within the University Libraries and with OhioLINK and the Digital Resources Center where appropriate.

Projects of enduring value would be advanced through this committee.  Characteristics of such projects may include but are not limited to significant content, large size, relative complexity, multiple access path requirements, and major resource requirements.  Small, individual and informal projects do not fall within the purview of the committee.
